Samba 4.0 was released

This afternoon the 4.0 version  of Samba.  Samba 4 is the first version that can be a domain controller in an Active Directory domain. Wine released version 1.5.16

winehq.org was announced Wine 1.5.16.

Here are some news from the latest wine release:

- New version of the Mono package.
  - Many improvements to the CMD command-line parser.
  - More stream classes in the C++ runtime.
  - Support for managing services in WMI.
  - Improved CPU detection.
  - Various bug fixes.

A new version of the favored database   PostgreSQL has been released and has a pelnty of performance and stability enhancements. This version of PostgreSQL will scale itself upto 64 cores and carry on index only scan with significant CPU usage reduction improvements.

The new PostgreSQL has the potential of:

  • Up to 350,000 read queries per second (more than 4X faster)
  • Index-only scans for data warehousing queries (2–20X faster)
  • Up to 14,000 data writes per second (5X faster)

Also this release includes the native JSON support which will enable to use this RDBMS in an exceedingly fully totally different approach.

Wine 1.5.10 was released

The Wine development release 1.5.10 is now available.
